Project
Every day we can watch on TV, read in newspapers and magazines that the situation with the Earth ́s nature is not good, every day we hear about global warming, pollution, extinction of some species, changes in the nature etc. Young people more and more take actions to do something about it, make the other people aware of the environmental problems and help the nature. New ecological and environmental movements appeared and young people are having the leading role in those activities. We do not want to stay aside, we are ready to join the movement, think about these problems more seriously and search for some ways how to help the nature survive our existence.
Six secondary schools from Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Portugal, Spain, Greece and Turkey agreed on cooperation on a two-year strategic partnership project within the Erasmus+ programme focused on environmental and ecological issues as well as the topic of sustainable development. We agreed on distribution of topics and activities, each school will be responsible for a part of the project.
The project will be composed of local activities, short exchanges of groups of pupils and eTwinning cooperation. We are strongly convinced that this project has to be carried out internationally to fulfill the objectives we would like to achieve. Our students can develop their communication and language competences, increase their awareness of other cultures, improved other skills and competences only when they have a possibility to meet their peers from the partner schools, talk to them directly, speak, listen, interact, suggest, object etc. only through a personal contact.
They will also work on specific tasks connected with the topic of the project, nature, ecology, green way of life or sustainable development together with their partners from the foreign schools. Only personal contact and personal cooperation on the spot in all partner countries will help to develop their competences, extend their understanding of things and event happening in nature, bring new ideas, new attitudes towards life with nature and change their behaviour towards the nature to help the environment and our planet.
Therefore we think that this project should be funded to allow young people from six countries from various parts of Europe to work on the topics together, meet personally, do some research together, share their ideas and opinions and the results of work with other people at the local or regional level, see the environmental problems in the partner countires on their own eyes, exchange their points of view and suggestions, discuss the similarities and differences in cultures, deal with customs and traditions in the partner countries, and offer them experience which will be hepful throughout their lives. We are convinced that the project will be very useful also for the participating teachers who will increase their knowledge of nature and environment which they will later use in their lessons.
